Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you ("you", "Customer") and AletCloud, operated by Alet Technology ("AletCloud", "we", "us"), governing your access to and use of the AletCloud platform, websites, APIs, consoles and services (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, accessing the console, or using any Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using AletCloud on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
1. The Services
AletCloud is a sovereign cloud platform hosted in Ethiopia. It provides on-demand infrastructure and platform services, which currently include virtual servers (VPS), managed application hosting, managed databases, S3-compatible object storage, domain registration and DNS, and an AI-agent (MCP) control plane. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time; we will give reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect you.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract and provide accurate, current registration information, including a valid Ethiopian phone number that we verify by one-time code. You are responsible for all activity under your account, for keeping your password, access keys and Personal Access Tokens (PATs) secure, and for promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use. We may verify your identity or business details before enabling certain Services.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Services lawfully and not to misuse them. Without limiting the agreement, you may not, and may not allow others to:
- Host, store, or distribute content that is illegal under Ethiopian law, infringes intellectual property, or violates the rights or privacy of others.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, run phishing, malware or fraud, or distribute malicious code.
- Attack, probe, scan, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or other customer (including denial-of-service activity).
- Mine cryptocurrency or run other abusive resource-consuming workloads except where a plan expressly permits it.
- Circumvent plan limits, usage metering, billing, or security controls, or resell the Services without our written agreement.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You retain all rights to the data, code, and content you store or run on the Services ("Customer Content"). You are solely responsible for your Customer Content, for the security and configuration of your servers, apps, databases and buckets, for the lawful basis to process any personal data you handle, and for maintaining your own application-level backups. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate, secure and provide the Services to you.
5. AI agents and access tokens
You may grant AI agents and third-party tools scoped access to your account through Personal Access Tokens (PATs) over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You are responsible for all actions taken using any token you issue, including resources created, modified or deleted by an agent, and for any charges they incur. Grant least-privilege scopes, review the audit trail, and revoke tokens at any time. We are not responsible for the behavior of third-party agents you choose to connect.
6. Fees, billing and taxes
Services are priced in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) and charged to your AletCloud wallet, hourly or per-period or per-registration depending on the product, at the prices shown on the pricing page. You are responsible for maintaining sufficient wallet balance; when your balance is exhausted, resources may be suspended (and, after a grace period, deleted). Payments are processed via Chapa (telebirr, banks and cards). Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes, which are shown at checkout and on your invoice in line with Ethiopian tax law. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
7. Service levels
Availability commitments and service credits for eligible Services are described in our Service Level Agreement (SLA) at /legal/sla, which forms part of these Terms. Service credits are your sole and exclusive remedy for failure to meet the committed availability.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or limit Services without prior notice where necessary to protect the platform, other customers, or to comply with law (for example, for non-payment, security threats, or material breach of these Terms), and will restore access once the issue is resolved where practicable. On termination, your right to use the Services ends and we may delete your Customer Content after a reasonable period; export your data before closing your account.
9. Warranties and disclaimer
We provide the Services with reasonable skill and care. Except as expressly stated in these Terms and the SLA, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all other warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free beyond the SLA commitments.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ethiopian law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, arising from the Services. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the amounts you paid to us for the affected Service in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Service credits under the SLA are your sole remedy for availability failures.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify AletCloud against third-party claims, losses and costs arising from your Customer Content, your use of the Services in breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or the rights of a third party.
12. Data protection and privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy at /legal/privacy. AletCloud runs on infrastructure located in Ethiopia and does not transfer your service data outside the country as part of normal operation.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the courts of Addis Ababa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights. The parties will attempt to resolve disputes amicably before resorting to litigation.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will communicate material changes through the console or by email; your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the Services and may close your account.
