Domains

The Domains product covers the whole lifecycle: find a name, register or transfer it, manage DNS, and point it at your AletCloud resources — all in Birr.

Register and transfer

• Instant search across supported TLDs with live registration and renewal prices.
• Register in Birr for one or more years, with your WHOIS contact details.
• Transfer domains in from another registrar using the auth (EPP) code.

Renewals

• Renew manually for one or more years, or enable auto-renew and forget about it.
• Bulk renew and bulk auto-renew across many domains at once.

DNS management

• Manage A, CNAME, MX and TXT records with TTL presets, from a Cloudflare-style zone editor.
• Auto-configure — point the domain at your AletCloud app or VPS in one click, no copy-paste.
• Subdomains — create and manage subdomains pointing at IPs or hostnames.
• URL forwarding — redirect a domain or subdomain to any destination URL.
• Custom nameservers — delegate DNS to another provider, or register child nameservers (glue records) for running your own.

Protection and privacy

• Transfer lock — prevent unauthorized transfers away (on by default; unlock only when transferring out).
• WHOIS privacy — hide your contact details from public WHOIS (paid add-on).
• WHOIS contacts — create and edit the registrant contact used for your domains.
• Auth (EPP) code retrieval when you need to transfer a domain out.

Housekeeping

• Activity log — every registration, renewal, DNS change and setting change is recorded per domain.
• Reset to defaults — one action restores default nameservers, clears custom DNS and re-enables transfer lock.
