# AletCloud — Full Platform Reference

## What makes AletCloud different
- **Sovereign by design.** All infrastructure and customer data stay inside Ethiopia. There is no cross-border data transfer; the platform is operated locally.
- **Priced and paid in Birr.** Every price is in ETB. Payments go through Chapa, which supports telebirr, Ethiopian banks and cards. There is no foreign currency, no forex step, and no hidden fees.
- **100% self-service.** Customers provision, scale, manage and delete every resource themselves from a web console or API in seconds — no sales calls, no support tickets, no waiting.
- **Low latency / local.** Servers are close to Ethiopian users, so response times are fast for local traffic without overseas round-trips.
- **AI-native.** Every capability is also exposed to AI coding agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), using scoped, revocable Personal Access Tokens.

## Accounts and authentication
- Anyone can create a free account; no credit card is required to sign up.
- Sign-in methods: phone number + password, or "Sign in with Google".
- Phone numbers are Ethiopian (format 2519XXXXXXXX / 2517XXXXXXXX) and are verified by a one-time code (OTP) sent via SMS. A verified phone is required to activate an account, including for Google sign-ups.
- Each account owns a tenant (workspace) and can hold a wallet balance in ETB used to pay for usage.

### Cloud VPS (Virtual Private Servers)
Linux virtual machines on local Ethiopian infrastructure.
- Full root access over SSH; install and configure anything.

- Built-in web console: browser-based terminal and VNC — manage servers without a local SSH client.

### Object Storage (S3-compatible)

- Fully S3-compatible API: works with the AWS SDKs, aws-cli, s3cmd and most S3 libraries by pointing them at the AletCloud endpoint and access keys — no code changes.
- Create buckets in seconds; each bucket gets an endpoint and credentials.
- Scoped access key pairs that can be issued and revoked per app or per agent.
- Buckets can be private (with time-limited signed URLs) or public-read (with a public URL) — suitable for serving static assets or public files.

### AI Agents (MCP integration)
Let AI coding agents operate your cloud safely.
- Connect any MCP (Model Context Protocol) compatible AI coding agent — for example Claude (Claude Code), OpenAI Codex, Cursor, and Google Antigravity/Gemini.
- Authentication uses scoped Personal Access Tokens (PATs) created in the console under Settings → Access Tokens.
- Least privilege: grant read-only or fine-grained write scopes per token.
- Full audit trail of every action an agent performs; revoke any token instantly to cut off access.
- Through MCP, agents can perform the same operations a user can in the console, including: list/create/start/stop/resize/rebuild/delete virtual servers and open their consoles; create/deploy/redeploy/restart/stop hosted apps and manage their environment variables and logs; create/start/stop/restart/delete managed databases and read credentials and logs; list and create hosting projects; search, register and manage domains and DNS records; manage private networking/VPN access; and read account balance, usage and transactions.

## Pricing and billing
- All prices are in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) and shown live on the pricing page: https://aletcloud.com/pricing
- Payment is via Chapa: telebirr, Ethiopian banks and cards. No foreign currency.
- Customers top up a wallet balance; usage is deducted as it accrues.
- Billing models by product:
  - Cloud VPS: hourly, against a monthly cap.
  - App Hosting: free Solo tier, then per-plan monthly pricing.
  - Managed Databases: one free Solo database per account; paid tiers priced per month.
  - Object Storage: per-plan monthly pricing by included capacity.
  - Domains: per-year registration and renewal pricing.
- If the balance reaches zero, resources are suspended (not deleted) and resume after top-up.
- Resources can be resized or deleted at any time; billing stops when a resource is removed. No long-term contracts.

## Infrastructure and regions
- Operated on infrastructure inside Ethiopia (Addis Ababa region), close to Ethiopian users.
- Data residency is local; the platform is positioned as a sovereign alternative to overseas hyperscalers for Ethiopian businesses and developers.
